Doctor of Leadership in Global Perspectives: Crafting Ministry in an Interconnected World

You Were Born rich, Think and Grow Rich!

Dr. Lieberman has done it again! This author’s work is simply excellent. With The Molecule of More, he gave me insights into how Dopamine’s influence informs love, sex, creativity, politics, and much more. [1]

Now, with Spellbound Modern Science, Ancient Magic, and the Hidden Potential of the Unconscious Mind, Dr. Lieberman’s work gives us an incredible insight into the magic behind our known thoughts, our unconscious mind.

This book can make us question the reality of everything around us, wondering what is real and what is not.! He can also empower us to train our minds to attract the best things we desire to manifest.

Since there is so much to cover that I may not have time for in this blog post, I will attempt to touch on similarities between the work of Jordan Peterson, Daniel Lieberman, and a few others.

My first introduction to Maxwell leadership was due to the quest for practical knowledge in values-based leadership. One of the leaders I found there had been influenced by Bob Proctor and Napoleon Hill, especially their emphasis on the influence of the power of the subconscious mind, which they prefer to call “Other than Conscious” instead of Subconscious.

Think and Grow Rich

In his first Chapter, “Three feet From Gold” The author, a fantastic storyteller, reminds us that our brain is the unknown Goldmine. “Darby was caught by the “gold fever” in the gold rush days and went west to DIG AND GROW RICH. He had never heard that more gold has been mined from men’s brains than has ever been taken from the earth.”[2]

In Think and Grow Rich, the author emphasizes the use of our mind power to gain the very things we desire, including lots, lots of money.

Daniel Lieberman warns us about the unconscious mind having the potential for magic that we have not taken time to put to use. He, however, reveals the dangers associated with this giant behind our known brain power, which has the ability to make and break us.

Similarly, Bob Proctor teaches the same thing using our other-than-conscious mind and tapping into the incredible wealth and financial potential that we are born with.[3]

ChatGPT precisely summarizes Bob’s teaching in You Were Born Rich.

“You Were Born Rich” by Bob Proctor is a motivational and inspirational guide that aims to help readers tap into their inner potential, shift their mindset towards abundance, and take actionable steps to achieve their goals and dreams. It combines personal development principles, positive thinking, and practical strategies to empower individuals to live a more fulfilling and prosperous life. The book is centered around the idea that each person has the potential for greatness and abundance within them and provides a roadmap for unlocking and realizing that potential. [4]

Questions for further investigation!

These ‘truths’ on the unknown, as covered by Peterson, Lieberman, Hill, Proctor and others might surely hold secret and solutions to today’s chaos. How about training our other than conscious mind in the accumulation our rightful wealth. Since we were born rich![7] In addition to our billions of dollars to help and bless others, we can train our other than conscious mind to call out solutions to major issues in our world today, such as wars, and civil unrest.

  1. Jean – What is one learning from Spellbound that you would incorporate into your coaching with leaders?

  2. Great question Laura, thanks for asking.
Trusting their “gut instinct” and never to ignore or minimize intuition. According to Dr. Lieberman, there is so much potential that leaders might take for granted.

Your post got me thinking about all the ways we know things intellectually with our conscious mind, yet the unconscious mind gives a different message. What are effective practices you have personally seen in bridging the gap of messages from our conscious and unconscious minds? For example, my conscious mind may tell me I’m capable and a hard worker. But my unconscious mind may tell me I’m dumb and lazy. What are your thoughts on how to reconcile and bridge the gap Jean?

  4. Thanks David, you ask a great question. Apparently we all hear these demons don’t we? Reminding myself who God says I am will help me bridge the gap. The devil is always looking at contradicting God’s promises towards us. I wish I had worked on my scripture memorization harder while young, it makes a deference knowing well what God says about us.

Enjoyed your post. I was wondering how you would interpret being born rich in a christian point of view?

  6. Thanks Shonell,
I believe in these books context (Think and Grow Rich & You Were Born Rich) the authors are referring to the potential for reaches that everyone is born with that can be realized with the activation or use of our unconscious mind.

Ephesians 1:3 Is what comes to mind relating to riches as a Christian.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”

Great post. I enjoyed the connections between authors that you made here. As for myself, I struggled with the idea of the unconscious mind having all the say and the rest of me having no say. It having its own agenda and control. It’s my opinion that as believers, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and that changes this picture.

  8. Good point, Tonette,
The Holy Spirit leads believers to discern what is true and what is not. Otherwise, this unconscious mind controlling us is fascinating.
