Doctor of Leadership in Global Perspectives: Crafting Ministry in an Interconnected World

Meaning of ecumenical Partnership

Written by: on August 27, 2012

Listening to Myung Sook Cho being asked about (financial) support of other churches in South-Korea and her negating that (because of their different denominational or congregational backgrounds), I asked myself about the meaning of ecumenical empowerment and partnership in South-Korea.

What does it mean, when we are hearing explicit rejections concerning Catholics in South-Korea (genereal ecomenial hesitation) and even innerdenominational concerns, regarding to what was told about the two unconpatible Presbyterian Universities in Seoul?

Is it just by chance that the next World Council of Churches is held in Busan, South Korea in 2013?

Is it important to foster networking and invest in a affirming and open culture brother- and sisterhood for the different denominations in South-Korea, to prepare them for what they have to face in an eara of decline and loss of relevance?
