The New Face of Christian
Introduction
Understanding the Pentecostals is what changes the lives of the Christian community. It makes them spiritually sound and they are able to live their faith as part of the spirit of love towards people and not their own love. If no one has had an opportunity to go to such a service he should read Global Pentecostalism and also can watch the CD that comes along with it. The book is a great source which to learn a lot more of the religious movements that are working in the time of today[1].
Summary
The authors of the book Donald E Miller and Tetsunao Yamamori came along to visit numerous Pentecostal congregations in about twenty countries of four continents and their focus was mainly over churches who were working for effective social ministry. After such thorough research and grabbing all integral religious details they both together compiled this book which is of most interest for religious practitioners and theologists. As part of the introduction the authors present over the basic idea of the bookkeeping on the baseline that some of the most innovative kind of social movements and events are being initiated from the Pentecostal churches which are growing at a fast pace. They have tried to understand the Pentecostal movement through a phenomenological lens[2]. The second chapter is called the Progressive Pentecostals and it is mainly the heart of the book in which some social ministries have been described with which the Pentecostal churches engage along[3]. The authors observed that other than social work and ministries these churches also have now got involved on individual and community development. Other chapters of the book focus on the description of a plethora of Pentecostal churches which are involved in social programs. Chapter six of the book is quite engaging as it contemplates the relationship between Pentecostal conversion along with upward social mobility. They work along with seven factors that contribute over to the individual level of economic progress that Pentecostals have led to[4].

Rose,
You wrote, “Understanding the Pentecostals is what changes the lives of the Christian community.”
Can you explain just a little more of what you mean by this?
Hi Rose. Is there anything in this book that helps with your project?
Rose,
When I was reading chapter four of this book, “Practicing the Faith: Transforming Individuals and Society,” I thought about you and your Restoration Community project.
Do you see any parallels or sharp departures from your project and Jackie Pullinger’s?
Thanks Claire
Yes i did, “Practicing the Faith: Transforming Individuals and Society,”but chose not to focus on it.
