Nick Martineau
Nick Martineau is a follower of Jesus, Husband, Dad, Founder of ILoveOrphans.com, Staff Development & Teaching Pastor at Hope Community Church, and devoted Baylor Bear fan. Nick and his wife Liz have been happily married for 10+ years. They have three children, Jewel (6), Noah (5), and Mo (5). The Martineau family calls Wichita, Kansas home. Nick has an unhealthy love for all things Baylor. He graduated from Baylor University with a Business Management degree in 2001 and in 2004 graduated from Baylor Seminary with his Master of Divinity. Following Baylor sports is one of his favorite hobbies.
During Nick’s years in seminary he led mission trips all around the world but grew a particular love for the people of Uganda. Nick, along with some good Baylor friends, started making frequent trips to Uganda and in 2005 Nick became the President of ILoveOrphans.com. Nick, and the ILoveOrphans.com 
team oversee the development and funding of the Bukaleba Project. The Bukaleba Project is a community development project that currently employees 100+ locals, provides housing, care, and education to 150+ orphans, along with educating 500+ students in the local community. The vision for the Bukaleba Project is to empower the community of Bukaleba to become a sustainable community that loves and cares for one another in the name of Jesus. The Bukaleba Project sits on 2500 acres in Southern Uganda, right off the coast of Lake Victoria.
Nick has a love for the local church and currently serves on staff at Hope Community Church, Andover, KS. Nick joined staff part-time in 2006 to develop their college ministry and in 2011 came on staff fulltime. Nick now serves as the Staff Development & Teaching Pastor where he works with an incredible group of 10 pastors and regularly teaches/preaches throughout the week. Nick finds himself in a fascinating role as he partners with Hope’s founding pastor of 27 years. There’s no clear blueprint for following in the footsteps of a 20+ year founding pastor but together Nick and the founding pastor are trying to navigate a healthy transition for the church.
Jesus has changed Nick’s life. Nick once could be found among the pharisaical in the religious church but now because of the grace of Jesus, Nick enjoys using his story to build relationships with others and open their eyes to truly being a follower of Jesus. Nick’s life verse is 1 Thessalonians 2:8, “we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
Nick is currently a student at George Fox Evangelical Seminary. He is enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program, is studying Leadership & Global Perspectives, and is a part of the LGP5 Cohort.
