‘Why’ is a question that Christians should be comfortable with asking. It has always been near the center of Christian thought. It’s the type of question that we’ve been asking for as long as our faith has been around. It’s a question that science can’t answer, but only faith can. Science can tell us ‘How’ God might have created the world, but it can’t tell us ‘Why’ God created the world.  ‘Why’ can give meaning and purpose to life. Embracing ‘Why’ allows us to live purposeful and directed lives.

Here’s my ‘Why’ statement:

The world is not as it should be.  A creation that was once perfectly good is now filled with death, decay and imperfection. God sought to put the world back together through Christ and his death and resurrection. As Christ’s followers we seek to love God and our neighbor. Doing so, allows us to be part of his work of restoration.
