The William Penn Honors Program invites you to hear theologian and ethicist Matthew Kaemingk present a thought-provoking Christian perspective on the growing debates over Muslim presence in the West. Rejecting both fearful nationalism and romantic multiculturalism, Kaemingk makes the case for a third way — a Christian pluralism that is committed to both the historic Christian faith and the public rights, dignity and freedom of Islam.
The lecture is Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Canyon Commons 101-103 and is free and open to the public.
Please send any questions to Jocelyn Stein at jstein@georgefox.edu.
This is Holy Week – the week when the Christian church remembers the events leading up to the resurrection of Jesus. To invite you into reflection on Jesus’ journey to the cross and the good news of Easter Sunday, the spiritual life office has posted a week-long Bible reading plan on our webpage for your convenience.
Our hope is that as you follow Jesus’ journey to the cross and wait with expectancy for Easter Sunday, that you will encounter God’s love for you and presence with you.
University Advancement is pleased to offer an estate planning workshop on Thursday, April 5, at noon in Roberts Center 117. A light lunch of soup and salad will be served.
Gene Christian, a George Fox alumnus and the university’s planned giving director, will present the tools and techniques necessary to develop a loving, tax-efficient estate distribution plan. If you need further direction with your estate plan, Gene will be available after the workshop to set up individual meetings.
There is no cost to you for either the lunch workshop or the individual meeting with Gene. Please join us to learn about estate planning and your options to care for those you love with your financial resources. Please RSVP by Thursday, March 29, to Karlyn Fleming at kfleming@georgefox.edu or ext. 2115.
