All residential students are required to attend their all-area mandatory meetings on the first day of classes. These meetings will take place across campus on the evening of Monday, Aug. 31, between 9 and 10:30 p.m.
Look for communication from your AC and/or RA regarding specific location and time for your living area meeting.
Welcome Weekend kicks off tomorrow (Friday)! We have a full schedule for incoming students. They will begin moving in Friday morning and end the weekend with RecFest Sunday night.

Welcome Weekend is almost here! In order for our hundreds of new students to have a seamless move-in experience, we need extra cooperation from the staff, faculty and students on campus today and tomorrow.
Staff and faculty: Please plan to park along the street, in the Bauman or Austin lots.
Students: If your on-campus residence is Pennington, Edwards, Weesner Village, Hobson, Macy, Sutton, Le Shana, Gulley, Brandt or Newlin Hall, we need you to vacate the lots associated with these locations on Thursday evening and stay out of them on Friday.
If you normally park in the Le Shana or Newlin Hall lots, please move your cars as close to Fulton Street as possible so that the areas in front of the buildings remain clear. You can also move your vehicles to the Bauman or Austin lot on Thursday evening.
Everyone in the Pennington lot, Edwards or Weesner Village needs to move to the Bauman lot on Wednesday evening. Please keep Sheridan Street clear for easier access for our incoming students!
Finally, the lot in between the Roberts Center, Gulley and Brandt halls must be vacated on Thursday evening.

In the university’s ongoing efforts to pursue operational excellence and simplify administrative workflows, the Office of People & Culture, in partnership with the finance office, is updating the process for engaging independent contractors (ICs).
Requests to engage independent contractors will need to be submitted through the Independent Contractor Evaluation Request Form located on the Independent Contractor website.
If your department intends to hire an independent contractor, please review the updated policy, workflow and action items. For a step-by-step overview of the new process, please reference the External User Guide: Independent Contractor Process Flow.

Interested in the ideas that built America? The Department of History and Politics invites all George Fox undergraduates to apply for “Proclaiming Liberty 2026,” a grant-funded fall program celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
Led by Professor Emeritus Paul Otto, this program features a Tuesday afternoon reading seminar on the ideas central to American independence and a thrilling, multi-day historical role-playing workshop set in a divided New York City in 1775-76 (Dec. 4-5). The workshop concludes with a public address by invited guest and noted scholar of Early America, Professor Johann Neem.

The Hadlock Student Center will be closed all day Thursday, Aug. 27, and Friday, Aug. 28, for all-staff training.
