Housing deposit information for fall 2016

Monday, February 15th, 2016

Students need to pay a $150 non-refundable housing deposit to participate in housing selection for the 2016-17 academic year. After housing assignments have been made, this deposit will be held and applied toward future charges.

Housing deposits can be paid in Student Financial Services (SFS) on the first floor of the Stevens Center through March 17. Before you pay you should be aware of the following:

  1. Your student account must be paid in full. If on a payment plan, your February payment (or March payment if after March 1) must be received and any amount not covered by your payment plan must be paid.
  2. Regardless of who pays the deposit, each student must stop by SFS. If the deposit is accepted you will receive a Housing Deposit Confirmation slip. This slip is needed as a record of payment.
  3. A payment received in any other way won’t be processed as a deposit, but instead will overpay the account or be applied toward the next monthly payment. SFS routinely refunds over-payments, so if you get a refund check you are not expecting please stop by to confirm the status of your deposit.

For additional details about the selection process or the housing deposit, please visit the Housing and Residence Life website or email housing@georgefox.edu with questions.

Join in special Spiritual Formation Colloquium

Monday, February 15th, 2016

Join us for a special four-week Spiritual Formation Colloquium that begins Wednesday, Feb. 17, and meets each Wednesday after that through March 9 (Feb. 17, Feb. 24, March 2 and March 9). We’ll gather in Stevens 109 from 10 to 11 a.m. each week, and our facilitator will be Kathy Noling, former associate campus pastor at Westmont College. You can sign up here.

The Christian faith is meant to be passionate, hopeful and creative, but sometimes we get stuck in tedious patterns when approaching God that keep us from experiencing the rich and fulfilling relationship that He intends. Such patterns ultimately can lead us away from God.

In this colloquium, we will introduce some spiritual practices that will help you be quiet, expectant and receptive to the Holy Spirit’s voice.

Note: You’ll receive five Chapel Elective Credits for attending all four colloquium sessions.

Questions? Contact Jamie Johnson at jamiej@georgefox.edu.
