Be aware of telehealth changes taking effect this summer

Monday, May 11th, 2026

Over the past two years, the university has partnered with TimelyCare to provide virtual medical and mental health services to undergraduate students and select face-to-face graduate programs based in Newberg. We are writing to inform you that this contract will conclude on May 26, 2026.

We anticipate securing a replacement telehealth provider; however, there may be a temporary gap in service availability during the summer months. This transition is primarily due to the cost of these services, which has been higher than anticipated.

We are currently in advanced discussions with two potential vendors and will provide an update as soon as a new provider is selected, including details on how to access services.

In the meantime, we wanted to ensure you are aware of the potential gap in telehealth availability this summer so you can plan accordingly.

If you have any questions, please contact the Health and Counseling Center at hcc@georgefox.edu.

Schedule a one-on-one meeting with a Providence rep on May 20

Sunday, May 10th, 2026

Providence Health Plan representatives are returning to campus to offer a unique opportunity for employees to receive personalized assistance through one-on-one consultations.

During these private sessions, a representative will have full access to your member account, allowing them to respond to specific questions regarding your benefits, claims, provider network, and authorizations. This level of access ensures you can get direct, account-based answers to your most pressing health plan inquiries without the typical wait times.

In addition to the scheduled consultations, a second representative will be available to assist walk-ins with more general questions. They can help explain how the plan works, provide benefit overviews, and address other non-account-specific concerns.

Because this level of direct access to member data on-site is a rare opportunity, spaces for one-on-one sessions are expected to fill quickly. Please sign up today to secure your consultation and get the information you need.

  • When: Wednesday, May 20, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Where: Canyon Commons 101

Sign up today or mark your calendar for a short visit.

Please make note of Zoom usage update

Thursday, May 7th, 2026

In response to major price increases for Zoom meetings, IT reviewed Zoom usage as an opportunity to “right-size” our number of licenses and avoid the unexpected cost to the university.

IT found that a reduction in Pro-level licenses would likely be possible since most usage was with standard Zoom features and/or Google Meet would be an acceptable or better alternative. Working with leadership across the university, a new target number for licenses was identified and goes into effect on May 10.

What this means to you:

  • Zoom Meeting services are automatically available to all individuals at the standard tier. Standard tier meetings are limited to 40 minutes.
  • Zoom Meetings “Pro” licenses are available to anyone identified as needing specialized Zoom features.
  • Google Meet is encouraged for all meetings that don’t require specialized Zoom features.
  • Zoom Phone services remain the same and are not affected.
