Join therapy group on Thursdays

Monday, February 24th, 2020

If you are interested in counseling and struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, or relationship difficulties, the George Fox Health and Counseling Center is offering a therapy group on Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Group therapy has proven to be one of the most effective and beneficial treatments for many students to address common issues. There is not a specific topic for each group session. Group members are welcome to bring any issue to the group, give and receive support and feedback from their peers, and work with reactions and responses to better understand themselves and others.

If you’re interested, email Chris Spromberg at cspromberg@georgefox.edu.

Monday, February 24th, 2020

Students may bring a different car to campus other than the one that is registered for up to two weeks. However, the new vehicle must be registered and issued a complimentary temporary parking permit.

Changes to a vehicle or license plate will require an update of your vehicle registration in order to avoid citations. Contact Campus Public Safety so that we can assist you in updating your information.

Faculty development opportunity: Learn to create videos

Sunday, February 23rd, 2020

Join a workshop on creating videos to enhance your teaching! This workshop will focus on the (mainly free) technology available to teachers for video creation and the art behind making a professional-looking video without professional equipment.

We will focus on how to quickly and effectively put content in front of students that gets them thinking and learning. No prior experience with digital classrooms or video creation is required.

This class satisfies six hours of faculty professional development requirements. While directed toward faculty, George Fox staff members have taken this course previously and found it very helpful.

The course will begin on Monday, March 2, and continues through Sunday, March 15. It is designed to be asynchronous and will be offered online through Adobe Spark. There is a $65 fee. Please register and pay the fee here.

Interested in other faculty development opportunities? Sign up here. Questions? Contact Andrea Byerley at abyerley@georgefox.edu.
