Mail Services has a number of mystery packages

Mail Services has been receiving a high number of packages with incomplete information on the shipping label. We do all we can to successfully get the packages to you, but with little or no information on the packages we have to investigate who the package belongs to. This lack of information may result in delay of delivery or even the returning of packages.

Please make sure the following information is included when placing online orders: first and last name and your mailbox number.

Business industry expert Mike Van Wyk speaks at Portland Center Oct. 25

George Fox alumni, current students and employees are invited to hear from business industry expert Mike Van Wyk on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. in Portland Center’s Room 155.

Mike has more than 20 years of consumer research and brand-building experience at large companies like Proctor Gamble and currently is the VP of customer research and insights for Capital Group. He will speak on the topic of purpose-driven brand building. A Q&A session will follow.

Coffee and desserts will be served. The event is free, but please register here. The event is being hosted by the College of Business and the Business Leadership Society.

Fall Staff Conference meets Thursday in Bauman Auditorium

The Fall Staff Conference is set for this Thursday, Oct. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium. Our speaker this year is Cynthia Ulrich Tobias. Cynthia’s successful career of 30-plus years has included work as an educator, a police officer and a business owner.

Cynthia is a bestselling author of 13 books, a featured guest on radio and television, and a popular presenter for businesses, government agencies, churches and schools throughout the U.S. and the world. She is the mother of twin sons, now young adults, and she lives with her husband Jack in the Seattle area.

“The Way We Work” participants will learn how to recognize their personal learning styles and how to develop effective strategies for communicating with virtually anyone.

Patti’s areas of responsibility have included cleaning and servicing Ross and Bauman Auditorium as well as several areas in student housing. She has served on the Staff Development Committee and has been to every Serve Day since its inception.

Benefit information from the Employee Empowerment office

In October you will receive information about benefit enrollment options for Tuition Remission, the Exchange Program, and Long-Term Care. We will also be conducting an important benefit survey. We will communicate the details in The Daily Bruin and in emails to benefit-eligible employees.

The Tuition Remission Application for 2018-19 will be available next week. The application will be accepted through Oct. 31 and will be in a fillable Google Doc format again this year. More information will be emailed next week!

Today is last day to get your passport done on campus

Today (Friday) is the last day to get your passport. If you are still thinking about getting your passport then don’t delay, you still have time. Drop by and visit with a U.S. Postal representative and get all of your passport questions answered.

You will need two forms of ID:

  1. A current driver’s license or state-issued ID card, and
  2. An original or certified birth certificate
