Info meeting on Summer Serve trip to China is today

Thursday, October 18th, 2012

Can a serve our global neighbors by listening, sharing stories, and living alongside them?

The answer is of course an emphatic yes. Especially in a culture as relationally and communally focused as China.

In May of 2013, a small group of GFU students will be sent on a three-week trip to China to listen, share and live alongside the people of China. They will get the chance to visit Chinese college students’ homes, see historic sites, and more than anything, gain a perspective on the beautiful life that is lived by the people of China. However, this is not a tourist trip. The goal is not only to see, but to “incarnate” the gospel of Christ.

Click this link to a video compilation from current and former teachers in China we will be visiting and working alongside. If you’re interested in being a part of this trip or want more information, please come to our second Summer Serve info meeting at 10:30 a.m. today (Friday) in EHS 102.

You can also e-mail email Rusty St. Cyr (rstcyr@georgefox.edu) or one of the two trip leaders: J Rourke, a 2011 GFU graduate and former English teacher in China (jrourkeiv@gmail.com), or Miriam Voth, a 2007 GFU graduate and former English teacher in China (md_voth@hotmail.com).
