The EDFL Symposium “Women and minorities in Educational Leadership†on Friday, July 6 is featuring our own Diane Wood, a GFU professor that serves in both the MAT program and Family Consumer Sciences department. The message of each of the speakers during our 14 day symposium is through their own lense of “models, mentors, barriers and hopes.â€
Diane has recently completed a chapter titled “Barriers to Women as Leaders in Faith-based Colleges and Universities: Strategies for Change†to be published in Women in Academic Leadership: Professional Strategies, Personal Choices. The book is edited by Diane R. Dean , Susan J. Bracken , Jeanie K. Allen, published by Stylus. More information on the book can be found at the publishers website: http://styluspub.com/books/BookDetail.aspx?productID=128106
The symposium starts with an informal lunch by either going through the cafeteria at 11:45 or brown-bag, with the speaker making their presentation from 12 to 12:55 pm. After a short break there is a question and answer period.
