George Fox is honored to have Pastor Rasool Berry, documentarian of Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom, share his film with us while he is on tour in Oregon.
We look forward to having you join us in EHS 102 from 4 to 6 p.m. tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday)! Chapel credit is available for this event.
After a screening of the film, Berry will stick around for a Q&A session, in partnership with students in the Black Student Union. The film is sponsored by Our Daily Bread: Voices.
About the film: “A black man is troubled by the legacy of American slavery and the misuse of Christianity to justify it. He travels throughout Texas and discovers how the Juneteenth holiday reveals the hope and courage that empowered the formerly enslaved and their descendants to fight for freedom in an often unjust society.”
Feel free to contact Zanne Backous at sbackous@georgefox.edu if you have any questions.
