Tomorrow (Tuesday), a state-required test of the elevator and fire systems in the Hadlock Student Center, Brandt Hall and Newlin Hall will take place.
During the elevator test, the elevator will not be operational. During the fire systems test, the lights will strobe and the horns will sound intermittently for a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of an hour and a half. During the testing, the buildings will need to be empty, as the fire safety system will be offline.
If you plan to be inside the buildings that day and wish to be notified when the testing will begin, please contact Plant Services at plantservices@georgefox.edu with your phone number and email and we can contact you.
Unfortunately, we will only be able to provide a 15-minute advanced notice before you will need to vacate the buildings. Thank you for your patience as we conduct these vital tests.

On Tuesday, Dec. 15, the construction project currently blocking the north entrance to the Hoover/Wood-Mar parking lot will greatly expand. The university has granted permission for crews to use the Stevens Center parking lot for their pipe installation project.
In addition to the currently blocked entrance to the Hoover/Wood-Mar parking lot, both entrances to the Stevens Center parking lot will be blocked. You are welcome to park in the River Street lot, the Pennington lot, or along the south side of Sheridan Street.
The installation of pipe along Sherman Street should be completed by the end of the day, so the parking lot closure only applies to Tuesday. In addition, Meridian Street will be closed for at least one hour during the day.
We expect the parking lots and entrances to be open again the following day. Thank you for your patience!

The Office for Spiritual Life is looking for several Life Group leaders for our seven-week spring Life Groups series (the weeks of Feb. 22 through April 9).
Life Groups are small groups of undergraduate students who meet together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Groups meet weekly for 60 to 90 minutes. This spring, all groups will meet in either a Zoom or hybrid format. (Hybrid groups will meet primarily via Zoom, but may occasionally meet outdoors as the weather, state and university regulations, and participant comfort permit.)
Throughout the pandemic, Life Groups through SpIL will also be SpIL-credit eligible in order to encourage students to engage in high-quality spiritual formation experiences that are participatory and offer ongoing community.
We welcome our employees, alumni, family members of George Fox employees and students, and members of our wonderful local churches to consider leading a group. Groups may also be co-led with an upper-classman student if the leader desires.
To sign up as a leader, please fill out this form and our office will follow up with you.
For more information, contact the Office for Spiritual Life at spirituallife@georgefox.edu.

The November 30-day Challenge is over! Thank you everyone who participated. We hope it boosted your energy and helped you feel better. If that’s the case, you are a winner!
We also drew three prizes today, and the lucky winners are Rusty St Cyr, Linda Samek and Donna Kestek. Congratulations! Please stop by HR to pick up your prizes.
We encourage everyone to do something healthy two to three times a week regularly. It can be something as easy as taking a longer dog walk or soaking in a bathtub. We also know that sometimes it is hard to come up with new ideas or get started, so we are sharing what worked for our November Challenge participants with you.
Be well and stay hydrated!
