Be aware of increase in phishing attempts

Monday, April 6th, 2020

  • Receiving shared documents from unknown or unusual senders
  • Offers for low prices on personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, etc.)
  • Information appearing to come from health authorities
  • Messages claiming to alert an individual about the suspension of his or her social security number
  • Offers for online job or internship interviews

Never click on any link or follow the instructions in a suspicious email, and be sure to report phishing incidents to the service desk at servicedesk@georgefox.edu. You can also get more information about identifying phishing attempts here.

Health and Counseling hosts virtual drop-in session tomorrow

Sunday, April 5th, 2020

The last couple weeks have been nothing but transitions. You’ve transitioned to online instruction and likely had some of your friends move away. Maybe you’ve had to move or lost your job (or maybe your family members have lost their jobs), or your team was headed to the playoffs just to see the season canceled. Or, you may have seen your Juniors Abroad trip canceled or your commencement postponed.

If you think it would be nice to talk about all these sudden changes with others going through the same thing, the Health and Counseling Center is setting up virtual drop-in hours this week. You don’t have to call or sign up; just click on this link and you can join the conversation between 4 and 5 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.

Watch The Daily Bruin for info on another one later in the week. We’re here for you.

Questions? Email Bill Buhrow at bbuhrow@georgefox.edu.
