Welcome Weekend changes information

Sunday, April 28th, 2019

As we approach the end of the spring semester, we know it seems strange to be thinking about undergraduate student Welcome Weekend when it is still four months away! However, we want to let you know about some changes in the schedule that may affect your planning.

  • Welcome Weekend is shifting from four days to three days and will be held Friday through Sunday, Aug. 23-25.
  • Freshmen will move in on Friday (Aug. 23) morning.
  • Programs for parents and families will begin Friday afternoon and conclude that night (not continuing into Saturday).
  • The George Fox Late Night at Target event will be on Friday night.

There were a variety of reasons for these changes, but we believe this will serve our incoming students and families very well! Of course, our goal is always for us to show tremendous hospitality and welcome to these new members of our community. We will post the schedule on our Welcome Weekend website when it is finalized.

If you have questions about how this change will impact you or your department, please contact Stephanie St. Cyr (sstcyr@georgefox.edu) or Bill Buhrow (bbuhrow@georgefox.edu).

IDEA Center survey: Summer jobs and internships

Sunday, April 28th, 2019

Summer is almost here, and we know there’s always exciting things to do and places to go.

We also know that many of you have jobs, internships, or both planned for this summer. We really want to know what those are!

This information is helpful to us for many reasons, but especially because we love to brag about the amazing things our students do outside the classroom. The IDEA Center is even putting together a campaign that will highlight several students and their summer experiences!

On top of that, a $25 Amazon gift card will be given to one lucky survey responder. Click here to fill out our two-minute survey.
