Vanderbilt professor Carol Swain speaks on campus Nov. 2
The university’s Department of History and Political Science invites the community to hear Carol Swain, professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University, on campus Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Presentations open to the public include:
- Chapel address: 10:40 a.m. in Bauman Auditorium
- “The Congressional Black Caucus and Immigration Reform: A Study of Failed Leadership”: 3:45 to 5 p.m., Hoover 105
- “Does Political Correctness Threaten Religious Liberty?: 7-8:30 p.m., Hoover 105
Swain, an award-winning author and media personality, has appeared on BBC Radio, NPR, PBS, C-SPAN and ABC, among other media outlets. She rose from being a high school dropout and teenage mother to earning a PhD from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree in law from Yale Law School.
She is widely recognized as an expert on race relations, immigration, black leadership and evangelical politics.
