The Beebe Post Office will be locked for the summer but will still be accessible to students who need to check their mail. Students will need to call Campus Public Safety (503-554-2090) to gain access to their mailboxes.

Mail Services will continue to deliver mail on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for the duration of the summer. 

Students who have mailboxes in other buildings will also need to call Campus Public Safety in order to access their mailboxes.

In order to mark the day we originally scheduled undergraduate commencement, we have created a virtual event for graduates, their families and friends to enjoy from wherever they are currently living at a time that is convenient.

After 8 a.m. today (Saturday), a virtual ceremony can be viewed. Visit this page for the link to watch the event, as well as links to a special commissioning message from University Pastor Jamie Noling-Auth and a special “Get to Know the Class of 2020” feature.

The virtual commencement ceremony features separate captioned versions in English, Spanish and Mandarin. This service is available on your desktop computer or mobile device.

If your contract ends soon and/or you will not be on campus through the summer, please bring over any cash or checks before you leave.

Please look around your desks and file cabinets to see if there are any lingering items that need to be deposited. Checks dated prior to June 30, 2020, must be deposited in the current fiscal year.

Thank you to all who have curtailed spending for nonessential items. In our continuing effort toward being good stewards of George Fox resources, we will now require that all purchases be approved in advance.

The PeopleSoft Purchasing system is the vehicle that we will be using for all purchases moving forward (including Visa transactions). Generated purchase requests will be converted into PO’s, and the approved PO will be sent to you electronically so that you will be able to complete the purchase.  If you are requesting a purchase that uses your George Fox Visa card, the vendor selected would be “USBank.”

An email was sent to all PeopleSoft users on April 16, 2020, with instructions/tutorial on creating purchase requests. We know that there will be some who haven’t generated purchase requests or haven’t done so for some time – not to worry! We will be available to give all the assistance that you need, including one-on-one training either over the phone, via email, in person or on Zoom.

The Hadlock Student Center intramurals program is hosting a running, cycling and walking/hiking challenge during the month of May. The individuals who log the most minutes for the entire month (there will be three separate groups) will win the respective championship. Depending on the number of sign-ups, we may have separate categories for students and faculty/staff.

Whether you run, ride or walk/hike really fast, or you’re just getting out for some exercise and cruising, the winners will be determined not by speed but by the total number of minutes for the entire month of May.

Over the last few weeks, automated emails have been sent reminding you of your upcoming rental books that need returned. In those emails, there are instructions to ship your books back, as well as instructions to print a prepaid shipping label that our company has provided. Please refer back to those emails and send your book in as soon as possible. 

When you ship your textbook(s) back, we will need you to include your first and last name, phone number, email address, and your rental patron ID number (which is also listed in your rental return reminder email). Without this information, we are unable to process your check-ins.
