Congratulations to The Corn Dawgs (Steve Fegler and Matt Williams, Plant Services), who won the Inaugural Millage Madness Cornhole Tournament. In the final, they bested their Plant Services colleagues, the Sand Baggers (Justin Kauffman and Michael Braden), to capture the coveted Piersall Cup and the Championship Belt.
Congrats to both teams for making it through successive rounds of competition, including semifinal victories over Team MarCorn (Sean Patterson and Tom Morlan) and No Game Scheduled (Adam Puckett and Antonio Arredondo).
The finance and operations team at the Millage Building are thankful to all 32 teams that played in our tournament, and we look forward to continued intramural activity this summer and beyond.
Special thanks to Frank Charles and Robert Agting in finance, and Kelsey Cantrall in University Recreation for their work in helping to schedule and facilitate this fun opportunity for their colleagues.

Don’t forget to participate in the inaugural “Friendly Walk” this Saturday, May 10, starting at 10 a.m. We’ll gather in the plaza on the south side of the Chehalem Cultural Center (adjacent to Sheridan Street).
You will join a small team of people (at least some of whom you won’t know), given a map of a suggested route, and sent off on about an hour’s walk, team by team.
You will have information on key historical and cultural sites in downtown Newberg and on the George Fox campus, and will cooperate to complete items on a list of things to do, talk about, and find along the way – and earn points. Upon returning to the Cultural Center, teams can redeem points for prizes.
Along the way, you will learn about Newberg’s history, have fun, get some exercise, get to know some new people, help create a stronger network of friendly relationships in the community across ideological or other boundaries, and improve your ability to use disagreements to generate better ideas for a better community.
For more information, contact Ron Mock at civility@georgefox.edu

The student life team is excited to host the Association for Christians in Student Development (ACSD) Annual Conference June 2-5. Some guests will begin arriving as early as May 28, with retreats and pre-conference workshops scheduled from May 30 to June 2.
We’re expecting more than 500 student life professionals from Christian colleges and universities across the U.S., Canada, and around the world. The conference also welcomes Christian professionals serving in student life roles at non-faith-based institutions.
As you encounter guests on campus during that week, we encourage you to extend a warm George Fox welcome. Many of these individuals have spent the past year pouring into others; this conference is a vital opportunity for them to be renewed, encouraged, and poured into themselves.
To view the conference schedule and details, please visit the event’s website. If you have questions, feel free to contact Sharia (Hays) Jones at shays@georgefox.edu or Mark Pothoff at mpothoff@georgefox.edu.
