University uses iTunesU to distribute public events

The university is now using iTunesU (iTunesUniversity) to distribute public events such as chapel. Access it from blogs.georgefox.edu/chapel/itunesu.html and it will fire off your iTunes program.

A number of courses also are beginning to use iTunesU to supplement the distribution of podcasts such as classroom lectures and special assignments.

Employee photo session Sept. 13

New employees who have yet to have their official university photo taken, or those who would like a retake, are invited to a photo session from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13.

Participants should check in at the Office of Marketing and Communications,  located on the second floor of the Stevens Center.  Photos will be taken in the River Street House.

Liberian gives global church lecture Sept. 12-13

Everyone is invited to attend a global church lecture given by Father Wulutomoh Silikpoh from Liberia at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 12-13, in Lemmons 8.

Silikpoh is the pastor of The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Ganta, a city in north central Liberia.  He is helping to rebuild the church after the destruction of the country’s recent civil wars (1989-1996, 1999-2003).

Campus calendars available at any location with login

It is now possible to access all university calendars from any location. Until now, users had to be on the campus network or use the VPN to see internal university events.

To view the internal calendar, go to calendar.georgefox.edu or select the Calendar tab in Bruindata and log in with your regular George Fox username and password. As before, the public calendar is available to everyone from calendar.georgefox.edu/public and does not require a login.

Thank you to all George Fox Undergrads for coming to Serve Day! We had our largest turnout ever and were able to help over 65 sites and about 30 more homes beyond that. Whether or not you felt like the work you did on Serve Day was valuable we believe that there will be fruits from your labor. We are continually hearing stories from sites about how our ministry there affected and helped them. Your presence and good attitude on Serve Day was such a blessing.

Now that school has started, it’s time to get your laser printer cleaned. The University Bookstore is scheduling printer cleanings for Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 12-13.
