New enhanced financial reports are now available to you in the PeopleSoft menu located under “GFU Reports†in your PeopleSoft reports menu. The “Budget Summary†report is similar to what you have had in the past, but now includes purchase order requests (encumbrances) in the calculations. This will be very helpful in your planning process. In the report “Budget Detail†you will find a wealth of details not previously available. In addition, a restricted fund report is now available.
A training session has been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Stevens 307 so you can learn more about what can be found in these reports. This session will give a quick overview of the new reports and how to run them. There will be time for questions and individual assistance. You will need to R.S.V.P. soon to confirm your attendance, as space is limited. (R.S.V.P. to Debbie Cash, who will be doing the training).
Additional training sessions may be scheduled as needed. Until then you can use this link to find a “cheat sheet” on our website that will help you to get started right away using these enhanced reports. Questions? Contact Debbie Cash at ext. 2171.
These new reports have come about through significant effort and tenacity over a long period of time by individuals in financial affairs, institutional technology, and Chris Payne, our PeopleSoft consultant.

It has been three years since the university participated in the Best Christian Workplaces Survey, and the executive leadership team and I would again like to receive your feedback on a variety of topics such as communication, job satisfaction, compensation, benefits, mission, and a number of other items.
If you haven’t already, please take about 10 minutes to complete this confidential, online survey between now and Dec. 10. If you would like to complete a paper copy of the survey rather than online, you can contact Chris Koch, our director of assessment, and return a completed survey to him. He will ensure that it is entered confidentially.
The Best Christian Workplaces Institute collates all employee responses and provides a valuable assessment of our organization, presenting the survey results in summary format to maintain your confidentiality. During spring semester, we will share with employees a summary of the survey results, including a comparison with the results from fall 2005 and fall 2007. We will then consider ways we can improve in any area where we may not be doing as well as we would like.
To access the survey, please click here, then enter this organization access code where requested: 2079-571
I very much appreciate you taking time to complete this survey, and I look forward to sharing the results with you in early 2011.
– Robin Baker

This note is to inform you about a change to the sign up process for on campus housing. Beginning with the housing sign ups for Fall 2011 a $150 non-refundable housing deposit will be need to be paid in order to participate in housing selection. Once you have received a housing assignment, your deposit will be held and then applied to your future charges.
The housing deposit arises from the need to have a more accurate picture of how many returning students will be living in campus housing for each academic year. This will enable us to provide better service to both returning students seeking to secure their preferred housing and new students coming in each fall.
We’ll continue to provide more information as we get closer to housing selections in the spring. Additional details will be sent via e-mail to all undergraduate students.
If you have any questions about this deposit, please contact the Student Life Office at housing@georgefox.edu.
