The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is hosting the second weekend of Scholarship Summit on campus today (Friday). With around 200 visitors expected on campus, we are asking students and employees to help extend the Be Known promise throughout the day.

Here’s what you can keep in mind:

• Plan to park in the Morse Lot, or use street parking this morning. Guests will be arriving between 8 and 8:45 a.m. and will fill all the main campus parking lots.
• Be mindful of guests in your housing area. We will have housing tours circulating through Edwards, Gulley, Pennington, HMS, and Newlin from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tour groups will be viewing dorm lobbies and a room on the first floor of each dorm.
• Plan for a busier-than-usual Canyon Commons. Guests will be going through the main servery line. If you see a family looking for a spot to sit, invite them to join you!

To provide maximum support as registration begins, the CAP Center will operate exclusively on drop-in hours the week of Monday, March 9.

CAP coaches will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help with registration questions, roadmap updates, and general advising needs. Feel free to stop by anytime during those hours and someone will be ready to assist you.

C.S. Lewis is one of the most influential voices of the 20th century, yet vast areas of his thought and legacy remain unexplored.

Building on the extraordinary momentum of our inaugural gathering, George Fox is hosting the 2026 Undiscovered C.S. Lewis Conference Sept. 24-27. This event will convene the world’s leading scholars and the next generation of thinkers for four days of cutting-edge research and imaginative engagement.

Scholars are invited to submit anonymous proposals of 300 to 500 words by March 31, 2026. Proposals should be for 20-minute papers in one of the six categories of our general theme “the undiscovered C.S. Lewis”:

• Historical studies that set Lewis in his own time
• Reassessments that question, contest, reaffirm, or clarify interpretations of his work or biography
• Comparative studies on Lewis and other thinkers and writers
• [Re]assessments of Lewis’s work in light of contemporary situations
• Explorations of his lesser-known material, and
• Presentations of previously unpublished material by Lewis

Acceptable submissions include, but are not limited to, the following disciplines: history, biography, literature, philosophy, theology, apologetics, ethics, political science, natural sciences, cultural studies, and rhetoric.

Proposals not specifically focused on Lewis but advancing scholarship on other Inklings or related writers are also welcome.

As a public-facing academic conference, we invite papers that are scholarly but accessible to a wider public audience. Submissions are welcome from scholars at every career stage, and limited scholarships (free conference registrations) are available for students or independent scholars with accepted papers.

Join us for a book release party celebrating Joel Mayward’s new work, Theology and the Films of Christopher Nolan: Cinematic Transcendence.

The event will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 p.m. in the screening room of the Art and Cinematic Arts Building. The evening will include a screening of Christopher Nolan’s film The Prestige, along with refreshments and a raffle for a copy of Mayward’s book and a gift card for Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Dr. Jessica Hooten Wilson of Pepperdine University will give a public lecture on how the novelist Dorothy Sayers can guide Christian thinking in the age of artificial intelligence. Join us for her presentation tomorrow (Thursday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Titled “God vs. AI? Dorothy Sayers’ Rally Cry for Making Things,” the lecture will explore how to use our gifts of creativity faithfully in the face of potentially dehumanizing forces.

Attention All Faculty: Register for the May Deep Dive Faculty Retreat, one of the best ways to conclude the academic year. The Deep Dive offers the opportunity to work on a project, delve into research, or dedicate time to a course in a serene and inspiring environment.

In addition to solo work, you can collaborate, rest and play with your colleagues. For a more reflective experience, a self-guided spiritual retreat is available. Lodging, meals and camp activities costs are covered by the university.

• Location: Twin Rocks Friends Camp (Rockaway Beach, Oregon)

We are inviting the George Fox faculty community to submit proposals for a nine-month-long teaching and learning project. The proposals can draw on any area of teaching and learning pedagogy that has widespread appeal to both graduate and undergraduate faculty from a range of disciplines.

The project should build a learning community around a particular topic, approach or methodology that is timely, relevant and evidence-based. This RFP is open to all full-time faculty.

Through this investment, we hope to cultivate a community of practice that prepares students spiritually, academically and professionally to think with clarity, act with integrity, and serve with passion.

Here are some details:

• Timeline: The project should launch over the summer or early fall (no later than mid-September). We expect work to take place over fall and/or spring semester, with a summative component occurring in late spring.
• Selection Criteria: The Office of Academic Affairs and Faculty Development Office will select ONE project that best supports missional and student-learning objectives, draws on evidence-based practices, and demonstrates the most feasibility.
• Award Amount: Up to $5,000
• Deadline: Monday, March 23 (notification of award will be in March 30)
• Fill out the application and upload required document through this form.
