How to register a formal student complaint

Tuesday, December 12th, 2017

While most student concerns and complaints can and should be resolved informally, there is a formal general complaint procedure described in the “Support for Students” section of the Undergraduate Student Handbook as well as on the Graduate/DPS Policies page of the website.

Note that these procedures cover complaints of a general nature and do not supersede specific policies involving special cases such as grade appeals, sexual harassment, etc., which are covered elsewhere in the Student Handbook, catalog or Graduate/DPS Policies.

For more information, contact the student life department (studentlife@georgefox.edu).

FoxTALE End-of-Semester Reminders

Monday, December 11th, 2017

FoxTALE Open Labs are available this week. You can view dates and times here.

If you used the FoxTALE grade book for any of your FoxTALE course sites, back up your 2017 Fall grade book to a spreadsheet that is saved outside of FoxTALE. See the instructions here for backing up grades. You will want to keep an archive of your course grades that cover the last five years.

Use your new, empty 2018 Spring sites as the sites in which you will teach. You may import content from another course site. See the instructions here for importing.

2018 Spring sites are currently hidden from student view. When you are ready, you can share the sites with your students. Here is a quick guide on how to make the courses available: FoxTALE Making Courses Visible to Students.

If your course site is set to Weekly format, your course might show incorrect start and end dates. To change the dates, go to Administration> Edit settings on the course home page. Scroll down to the Course start date, and change it to the first day of your 2018 Spring course. Also, add the course end date. Scroll to the bottom of the page and “Save changes.”

Visit the FoxTALE for Faculty webpage for guides and resources and to see the new features coming for the Spring 2018 FoxTALE Upgrade!
