This Thanksgiving, we are collecting gift cards and monetary donations as an offering of love and support for our community members who have experienced devastation.

Monetary and gift card donations can be dropped off at the SpIL House or sent through campus mail to the Office for Spiritual Life (checks can be made payable to “George Fox University.”)

President Robin and Ruth Baker cordially invite employees to celebrate together the great mystery of Christ the Lord at the Christmas Concert this Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium.

Employees are entitled to two complimentary tickets for Sunday’s matinee or a single ticket for any of the other performances (on Dec. 7 or Dec. 8). Following the concert on Sunday, employees are invited to a Christmas open house at the president’s home from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at 701 E. Franklin St. in Newberg.

You can select your concert tickets online at this link (be sure to select “GFU Employee” in the drop-down menu on the page that pops up after making your seat selection). If selecting your complimentary seats for Sunday, you may disregard the note that states employees are only entitled to one ticket per event; however, you must still select “Okay, I will bring my ID to the door” in the drop-down menu.

We currently have multiple full-time and part-time positions open in Campus Public Safety and need your help finding qualified candidates.

The lead campus safety officer is a full-time evening supervisory position. In addition, we have multiple part-time security professional positions that are available for those wanting flexibility in their schedule.

If you know of anyone who might have interest, we would greatly appreciate if you would do two things. First, let them know about the position and about how great it is to work at George Fox. Midyear commencement is Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m., and the Office of Academic Affairs is looking for volunteers to usher.

We’d love to have you join us as we celebrate our graduates on their big day! If you choose to help, the time commitment will be from 9:30 a.m. to around 12:30 p.m. All George Fox employees who serve as ushers will have the option to receive $50 through payroll or take three hours off in lieu of payment.

Prices range from $275 with a slight defect to $350 for a flawless 64GB (along with a few 256GBs available for $400). Please note that these phones are sold as is, with no warranty, and come with a power adapter and charging cable only. All phones come with a Verizon SIM.

The Office of Marketing Communications is hosting training sessions for web editors to either refresh or learn how to use Cascade Server, the system used to update the university website.

Space is still available in both training sessions:

• Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m.
• Thursday, Nov. 29, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
