Come support our theatre program this Saturday, Nov. 22, with a staged reading of A Stone’s Throw, a new play written by senior theatre major Olivia Anderson. The play is a 90-minute dramatic exploration of Quaker peacemaking efforts in Derry, Northern Ireland, in the 1980s. It will be presented in Wood-Mar Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Last summer, Olivia was fortunate enough to receive a Richter Grant to do research and write a play about Quaker peacemaking. She traveled to England to interview John and Diana Lampen and interviewed Margaret O’Donnell in Derry, Northern Ireland. Olivia heard countless stories about the Peace and Reconciliation Group and has spent the last six months crafting a play around their experiences.
Come join us!
