Join us for a student-directed play coming up on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28, when George Fox University theatre’s Alpha Psi Omega Society presents Eleemosynary, a one-act play written by Lee Blessing and directed by Cambria Herrera.

The play begins at 8:30 p.m. each night and runs for an hour and 15 minutes in the Murdock Learning Resource Center. Tickets will be sold for $5 at the door, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Come hear from former University Pastor Sarah Baldwin tonight (Wednesday) in chapel. Sarah now serves as the VP of student development and dean of students as Asbury University. Chapel will be held in Bauman Auditorium at 7 p.m. Chapel credit is available.

Make plans to attend a free concert commemorating a recent upgrade to the university’s pipe organ in Bauman Auditorium. The Organ Dedication Concert, featuring musicians Dan Miller on organ and Kenn Willson on piano, will take the Bauman stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20. General seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The university recently purchased a Rodgers Digital Organ. By the use of digital technology, the organ’s original pipes have been connected to the digital organ. In doing so, the university preserved the original pipe organ installed in the early 1980s while greatly enhancing the quality of sound.

The program will include the selections Toccata and Fugue in D-minor by Bach, a patriotic tribute including the Navy Hymn, a medley from The Phantom of the Opera and one piano and organ duet on the tune Lord of the Dance (arranged by Joel Raney).

Tickets are still available for the final shows of our winter musical production, Little Women. The show runs Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 12-15, in Wood-Mar Auditorium. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the Sunday performance, scheduled as a 2 p.m. matinee.

Complimentary Ticket Process
George Fox students and employees can reserve their complimentary tickets online at the above link. All university students and employees may receive one complimentary ticket per production. Complimentary tickets are not transferable and require a current GFU ID to be shown at the door. Student complimentary tickets are only available for Thursday’s performance.

Crouch is the author of Playing God: Redeeming the Gift of Power. His book Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling was named one of the best books of 2008 by Christianity Today, Publishers Weekly, Relevant, Outreach and Leadership. In December of 2012 he became executive editor of Christianity Today.

The IDEA Center is hosting two events for students who have yet to declare a major or who have declared a major but are still feeling uncertain about their direction. Come hear from a panel of current students and recent graduates who also found it challenging to decide on a major and the steps they took discerning their direction.

Both events are the same but being offered at different times to accommodate a wider range of schedules. These sessions will also include helpful tools and insights aimed at connecting your academic pursuits with your interests and passions.

The GFU Students For Life Club works to educate its members to redefine the pro-life/pro-choice debate and promote life and wellness throughout our community. The club seeks to connect the student body to support pregnant and parenting students. Meetings are every Monday at 4 p.m. in Lemmons 5. This is a reminder that students need to pay a $150 non-refundable housing deposit to participate in housing selection for the 2015-16 academic year. After housing assignments have been made this deposit will be held and applied toward future charges.

Housing deposits can be paid in Student Financial Services (SFS) on the first floor of the Stevens Center through March 19. Before you pay you should be aware of the following:

1. Your student account must be paid in full. If on a payment plan, your February payment (or March payment if after March 1) must be received and any amount not covered by your payment plan must be paid.
2. Regardless of who pays the deposit, each student must stop by SFS. If the deposit is accepted you will receive a Housing Deposit Confirmation slip. This slip is needed as a record of payment.
3. A payment received in any other way won’t be processed as a deposit, but instead will overpay the account or be applied toward the next monthly payment. SFS routinely refunds over-payments, so if you get a refund check you are not expecting please stop by to confirm the status of your deposit.

Interested in helping out your fellow students? The Art and Design Department is looking for volunteers to help out with hosting a fashion show on Friday, March 13!

We are hosting not one, but two showings. That means we need a lot of volunteers to help with dressing models, ushering guests, taking tickets, preparing food, the set-up and tear-down process and much more. We need all the help we can get. So, please consider this fun and worthwhile opportunity.
