Journalism is topic of Monday’s LACI lecture

Thursday, March 12th, 2015

The campus community is invited to a Liberal Arts and Critical Issues presentation, “It’s OUR Journalism: We should fix it if we can,” this Monday, March 16, in Hoover 105. The session runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and features Clifford G. Rowe, professor emeritus from the Department of Communication and Theatre at Pacific Lutheran University.

Rowe will address the questions, “What is the responsibility of journalists to the public, and what role does the public play in creating journalism?” and “How do we create responsible and reliable journalism?” The questions are particularly relevant in an age in which early reporting, “people on the street commentary” and social media posts and photos all contribute to information and misinformation in the news.
