Run for Reading charity event is Saturday

Come out and enjoy the sun while running for a good cause! Run for Reading is a charity run to support the local elementary schools and raise money for Spanish children’s books. Come to Renne Park in Newberg next to Edwards Elementary this Saturday, April 18, between 10 a.m. and noon.

The cost is $5 for entry, and all proceeds benefit the SMART reading program and elementary schools in Newberg. Hope to see you all there!

Make plans to attend annual Fox Film Festival

Join us at the 17th Annual Fox Film Festival, a two-day screening event showcasing films and projects created by cinema and media communication students!

The Cameo screening event takes place at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at the Cameo Theatre in downtown Newberg. Tickets for the Cameo screening are one ticket for $4 and two for $6. The Bauman screening event takes place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, in Bauman Auditorium, and admission is free! Different films will be screening each night, so join us on both nights!

Additionally, guests are welcome to the awards ceremony that will take place after the Bauman screening at 8:30 p.m. in the Greenroom.

Panel discusses ‘Unexpected Expectations: Responding to Unplanned Pregnancy’

All George Fox students and employees are welcome to attend the third and final installment of the spring Student Life discussion series, “Symposium: A Forum for Uncommon Conversations.” Our topic for this week is “Unexpected Expectations: Responding to Unplanned Pregnancy.”

Join us today (Thursday) from 10:50 to 11:40 a.m. in EHS 102 to hear a panel of George Fox community members share the ways the topic of unplanned pregnancy has affected their lives. Panelists will include Allison Henckel, Kris Kays, Joe Thouvenel and Jere Witherspoon.

Class of 2015 Commencement Ticket Information

Mail services has begun to distribute tickets to graduates participating in the Class of 2015 commencement ceremony. Graduates are receiving a package notification, and must show ID and sign for their ticket packet.

Important information on the commencement event is included with the tickets and has also been mailed to home addresses. The undergraduate commencement will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, in Stoffer Family Stadium. Additional information can be found at commencement.georgefox.edu.

Tax day is here!

Tax day is here and it is a frantic time for all of us. Therefore, let mail services help you with calculating the correct amount of postage for sending out your taxes. All postage must be paid in full (cash or check) when sending out. And while you are here, ask a clerk to weigh your envelope to make sure the weight is correct.

All taxes must be to mail services no later than 3 p.m. in order to meet the USPS pick-up. Anything after 3 p.m. must be delivered to the post office on your own.
