The Office of Spiritual & Intercultural Life warmly welcomes you to our baccalaureate service, the opening event of graduation weekend. It is tonight (Friday) from 7 to 8 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium and will be a commissioning service for our graduating seniors and their families, remembering all of our graduates’ special accomplishments from their time here at George Fox.
All are welcome to attend, and Spanish and Mandarin Chinese translation will be available for those who wish to enjoy the service in those respective languages. It is a non-ticketed event; simply come and enjoy! Attire is business casual.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Office of Spiritual & Intercultural Life at spirituallife@georgefox.edu or 503-554-2320.
Staff and students: A silver VW Jetta was hit in the front lot of the VAC on Tuesday, April 28, between 7:45 and 11:15 a.m. The car was in the middle row by the median on the northern end of the lot and was facing Villa Road.
A $100 reward has been offered by the car’s owner for any information that leads to the individual responsible for the damage to the car being caught. Please contact security (ext. 2090) if you saw somebody hit this car on Tuesday.
Thank you!

Some instruction from mail services about mailbox keys …
Where do I return the mailbox key?
There are key return envelopes on the counters at all post offices. Fill out the envelope and seal the key inside it. Drop the envelope into the campus mail slot. You can also bring the key to mail services – where you pick up packages.
This Writings of John course (BIBL 350), which is a GEED elective, will cover the Epistles and Gospel of John, building most class sessions on the movie The Gospel of John! For an engaging venture into the riddles of John, come join us for this exciting experience over May Term from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Please take a moment to let your voice be heard by ASC by filling out this survey! All participants will be entered into a drawing to receive one of five $20 Amazon gift cards. Winners will be notified on Friday. Thank you!
We are pleased to announce that George Fox University has chosen to partner with Follett Higher Education Group in operating our bookstore. This transition to operation by Follett will be completed by July. There will be more information to share on this transition in the coming weeks/months.
Please contact Matt Hammar at mhammar@georgefox.edu with any questions.
A huge box of lost and found items was just turned in to the lost and found from Wood-Mar Auditorium. If you have lost something either while performing in a play or attending something in Wood-Mar, please stop by the security office before the end of the week to check for your lost items.
All unclaimed items will be donated to charitable causes next week.
Before saying your goodbyes and hitting the highway there are a few payroll reminders …

Students, staff, faculty, families and community members are welcome to join the community garden this summer. We will have weekly work days and potlucks, and you will soon begin bringing home fresh produce.
To learn about upcoming work days and how to get involved, email Cherice Bock at cbock@georgefox.edu, and/or join our Facebook page.
The community garden moved to a new location! There is a lot of work to be done this season to get the new space up and running, and we are looking for interns to help out this summer. Internships will run May through August. (If you are going on Juniors Abroad, that can be negotiated.) All interns should be in Newberg most of the summer and commit to coming to weekly garden work days.
Continuing students will receive a stipend of $400. A committed intern could request to take up to two of the following positions.
Interested applicants should send an email with a concise description of any relevant experience, why they are interested in the job, and summer availability to Cherice Bock (cbock@georgefox.edu) by Saturday, May 2. Applicants should also have one professor or employer send a reference letter.
The process to register your vehicles will be changing. We will be communicating the changes via these announcements and our Facebook page (George Fox University Security Services).
So, please read them regularly! Have a great summer!
The campus will be a beehive of construction as soon as school finishes, and as many parking lots and curbs as possible will be re-striped/painted this summer. Therefore, we need as few cars as possible being left on campus.
If you are going on a Juniors Abroad trip, Summer Serve trip, or are an international student, we would love for you to find a friend living off campus to leave your car with so that it can be checked on.
If that doesn’t pan out, please come to Security with your car keys, and we will tell you where to park your car. George Fox is not responsible for anything that might happen to your car if it is left on campus. Any car that is left on campus without the keys being left with Security will be considered as abandoned and will be towed at your expense. If you are here for May Term or working on campus during the summer, please pay attention to the Daily Bruin announcements as lots will be closed periodically for construction and painting all summer.
Questions? Please call Security at 503-554-2090. Thank you in advance for your cooperation so Plant Services can work unhindered this summer!
Security has noticed a lot of abandoned bikes left on campus bike racks, and they are very tempting to potential thieves. If you are not staying on campus over the summer, please take your bike home!
The admissions office is getting ready for Genesis, and we are looking for student volunteers! If you will be around this summer and would like to help out, get free lunch and a free T-shirt, we’d love to have you!
Here are the dates for Genesis this summer: May 14, May 15, May 16, June 17, June 18, June 19, and July 10. Each of the Genesis events are single-day events. You can either help out with just one or as many as you’d like!
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Kelly Coolen at kcoolen@georgefox.edu.
Only if you requested it to be open part or all summer. You could have done this by responding to summer address information emails or if you stopped at the address collection table a couple of weeks ago.
If you need your mailbox to be open and you have not taken care of this, please email Linda Sartwell at lsartwel@georgefox.edu.
