The physical therapy department is still looking for participants to join a research study on Achilles tendinopathy. The study aims to evaluate recreational runners with persistent pain in the mid-portion of the Achilles tendon. Testing will continue through this week.

Are you a student interested in being a part of tough conversations revolving around race, faith, and diversity? Do you enjoy discussions about intercultural communication and relationships? If this is you, then consider applying to be a Cultural Ambassador through the Intercultural Life office.
This unique student leadership opportunity is open only for six to 10 students who are seeking to be culturally engaged and who have a desire to see change take place on their own campus. The skills acquired through this intensive training are recognized as being indispensable in the workplace (of all fields). In addition to training with your peers on a weekly basis, students involved in Cultural Ambassadors will be attending the SCORR (Student Congress of Racial Reconciliation Conference) in the month of February, held at Biola University.
This is an enriching opportunity for all students, so do you want to be known as a Cultural Ambassador?
Applications will be open from Oct. 3 through Nov. 11.

This week in chapel on Tuesday morning (10:50 a.m.), guest speaker Amy Williams will share. Williams is involved in youth ministry, with a specific passion for teens involved in gangs, on probation/ parole, and lost in the criminal justice system. Her calling is to a be a “Hope Dealer.”
Vespers on Wednesday night (7 p.m.) is a continuation of ONE. The passage for this week is Romans 6. See you in chapel and Vespers!

Want a job or internship in your field this spring or summer? Sign up to attend one of three career fairs that Oregon State has invited George Fox students to attend! More than 100 employers will be available to talk to you about current and future jobs and internships.
- Oct. 25: Business and Communications
- Oct. 26: Engineering
- Oct. 27: STEM & Health Careers
The fairs run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ride down with other George Fox students and IDEA Center staff or go on your own. Vans will depart at 9:30 a.m. and return to campus before 3 p.m. so athletes can attend. Sign up through the Events tab in Handshake so that the IDEA Center can make you a name tag.
Start planning now to work on you resume and LinkedIn profile and make an appointment to see a Career Coach to learn career fair strategies. This is a great chance to practice meeting employers and see what opportunities are in your field.

One Heart Source is currently accepting applications for its 2017 Experiential Learning Programs in Cape Town, South Africa. We are offering a variety of two- and four-week volunteer programs and internships next summer.
As an OHS volunteer/intern, you will:
- Gain international experience for graduate school and employment
- Develop skills in international communication, mentorship and community outreach
- Mentor students to achieve academic growth and cultivate lasting relationships

Join us for the seventh Liberal Arts and Critical Issues presentation of the semester tonight (Monday), when “The Friends Work in Ramallah, West Bank/Palestine” will be discussed in Hoover 105. The same presentation will be made from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Guests Elizabeth Sherwood, administrative pastor at Newberg Friends Church; Shawn McConaughey, assistant superintendent for Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends; and Lynn Clouser-Holt, lead pastor at North Valley Friends Church, will describe the current work being done by Friends in Ramallah and what their experience teaches us about Christian peacemaking at the boundaries of Islam and the West.

Stressed out because you don’t know MLA style for citations? Join us for a workshop, “Using MLA Format Effectively,” this Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m. in Stevens 209.
In this session, Kathy Heininge, associate professor of English, will cover the Modern Language Association citation and reference formatting, along with several guidelines for writing in MLA style. MLA is commonly used in humanities courses such as English, literature and modern languages.
