Tomorrow (Monday), the Write Way is meeting once again for workshopping and discussion. For this session, we’ll focus on aspects of storytelling and plot structure. All aspiring novelists struggling with their story arcs are more than welcome, but as per usual, writers of all stripes are invited.

Open auditions for a short student film will be held today (Saturday) at 8 p.m. in Lemmons Kitchen Lab (location is subject to change).
Interested in acting in a short silent film? Well here’s your chance! We’re looking for two actors (one male, one female) who want the opportunity to star in a short film. There are no lines to memorize, but we are looking for people who think they’d be good at miming. More information about the characters and story will be given at auditions.
No monologue required. We’ll be asking you to act out nonverbal improv scenes. We will be filming at various times from Feb. 22-26 and are willing to work with your schedule.

Today (Saturday) is the deadline to sign up for the Industry Innovation Idea (i3) Challenge! Students, start putting your teams together – six students from any major – and mark your calendars for Saturday, Feb. 25, for the third annual i3 Challenge. The event, sponsored by the College of Business, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Hoover Academic Building.

Are you interested in engaging in dialogue about current issues in our society?
We are hosting an event, Matheteis, designed to provide space for faculty, staff/administrators and students to discuss difficult topics that lead to learning and understanding. Those who attend will have the opportunity to listen and learn from our four panelists as they answer a series of questions. Afterwards, attendees will have the chance to ask questions themselves and join the discussion.
Our first gathering for this semester’s series will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 8:30 p.m. in Canyon Commons, and the topic will be “Would You Stand.†We will be discussing the national anthem and activism. There is no cost to attend, and snacks will be provided. Elective chapel credit is offered for this event. This event is sponsored by the Intercultural Life office, Shalom and BSU.

As part of the university’s 125th anniversary celebration, special guest Peter Kreeft, PhD, a professor of philosophy from Boston College, will speak in Bauman Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Friday). The title of his presentation is “Lewis & Tolkien: Christian Faith in a Postmodern World.”
Kreeft is the author of 75 books as well as a popular writer of Christian philosophy, theology and apologetics. His books include Handbook of Christian Apologetics, Christianity for Modern Pagans and Fundamentals of the Faith. Admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
