Please park where your parking permit allows, as ticketing has begun

Wednesday, September 6th, 2017

Please begin parking immediately in the areas where your parking permit allows, as ticketing has already begun! Vehicles with Austin and Morse permits can park only in those two lots. Resident East, Resident West, Graduate and Commuter parking areas are very street and lot specific, so be sure to look at your parking brochure and keep it in your car so you will know where else to go in case your first choice is not available.

All registered vehicles must have either a parking permit affixed on the exterior of the rear of the vehicle (preferably the lower-left corner of the rear window) or a temporary permit on the dashboard. If your permit and parking brochure haven’t arrived yet, please check out the parking brochure on the security web pages or come to the security office to see one.

Use caution when exercising outside due to poor air quality

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017

Many of you may have noticed a layer of ash on your cars over the past couple days. This is related to the Oregon wildfires that are currently burning throughout the state. As a result, the air quality in this region is poor (especially for those with lung conditions such as asthma). It is recommended to avoid or exercise caution when exercising outside until conditions clear.

If you have questions or need to speak with a health care professional about concerns, please contact the university’s Health and Counseling Center at 503-554-2340.

International Chapel begins this week

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017

Our International Chapel will meet on Thursdays each week from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This year we will meet in the the Prayer Chapel on campus. The format will be similar to last year. We will begin with an ethnic food meal together (no cost), followed by our chapel speaker and then some time for small-group discussion and prayer. Chapel credit is offered.

Each week we’ll host a different speaker from our campus community or local area. Alex Pia will be our chapel speaker this week and will talk about Scriptures he has found meaningful to him. All our chapel speakers this semester will also talk about selected Scriptures that they have found very meaningful.

It is a great time of coming together and being encouraged. All students are welcome!

For more information, contact Alex (apia@georgefox.edu) in International Student and Scholar Services.
