The Richter Scholars Program awards research grants to undergraduate and graduate students. Students in all disciplines are eligible to receive the awards and awards have been used to support everything from summer research in chemistry to a campus film project.
Awards are typically around $3,700 and can include student stipends (undergraduates can include up to $3200 for a summer stipend). Graduate students may apply for stipends; however, graduate student awards typically support direct costs of the research. Students applying for stipends should indicate the amount of time they intend to spend on the project.

Applications must be turned in to Chris Koch, chair of the Richter Scholars Committee, on the Newberg campus (psychology office; Hoover Academic Building, Room 110), and Mark Weinert, director of the Portland Center, at the Portland campus (seminary office). Boise and Salem students should mail their applications to Chris Koch (at George Fox University, 414 N. Meridian St., Box 6143, Newberg, OR 97132). Applications are due by Dec. 3, 2007, at 4 p.m. Awards will be announced no later than Dec. 22, 2007.
