We now have our Buyback List online. Find out what your books are worth by going to www.store.georgefox.edu, select Main Store, then Textbook Buyback at the bottom of the page. Type in the ISBN number, located above the barcode on the textbook, and you will be shown the estimated value of your book. Check back daily for any additions to the Buyback list.

‘Tis the season to do Christmas shopping at the University Store. Starting Monday, Dec. 10, save 20 percent on all George Fox imprinted items (except diploma frames), World of Good items, and Christmas products. Also, save 10 percent on all Burt’s Bees and Prestige products, as well as select earrings.
The sale ends Saturday, Dec. 15. Hours during finals week will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday hours will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The first set of 4 plays will be presented December 5 and December 7.
The second set of 5 plays will be presented on December 6 and December 8.

The students and faculty of the English Language Institute invite you to join them for a holiday musical, “Happy Holidays 2007,†at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in Hoover 105. The program celebrates holiday traditions throughout the year from China and the United States, as well as music from both countries. It will feature the Chinese zither, flute and piano, along with original compositions and sing-a-longs.

Seats are still available for the final holiday luncheon to be served by the students of Family and Consumer Sciences this Friday, Dec. 7. The luncheon will include a chicken entree with seasonal accompaniments, soup or salad, beverage, and dessert. The cost is $8.
Lunch will be served from noon to 12:30 p.m. in Lemmons Room 4. Take-out orders also are available, so you may pick up several for dinner. Contact Helen Morse (Family and Consumer Sciences) at ext. 2640 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for reservations and any dietary accommodations.

The campus community is welcome to enjoy engineering’s “Wobble Off” from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Ron Gregory Atrium. The event is a demonstration of freshmen engineering students’ first project – a variety of oscillating steam/air-operated engines. The event highlights the students’ first year studies in engineering design, solid modeling, and machining, and showcases the creative and impressive results of their design/build projects.
The students’ engines will compete in a variety of categories, including maximum speed, minimum vibration, maximum coast, cost efficiency, and creativity/craftsmanship.

Weather reports indicate that the Pacific Northwest may experience a strong windstorm in the coming days. In light of this, it is strongly recommended you consider moving your vehicle to a safer location.
Please note: No parking citations will be issued to accommodate this preventive measure.
If you are assigned to park in the following parking lots, please move your vehicle as soon as possible:
- South and East side of the Pennington parking lot
- Newlin Apartments
- Weesner House
- Weesner Village
- Along the streets near Douglas Fir trees
The following parking lots would be better options during high winds:
- Behind the Villa Academic Center (the old hospital)
- Sherman Arms
- Macy
- Old part of the Le Shana parking lot
- Bauman
- Stevens Center

If you will be attaining senior status (93 or more credits, 22 years old or older) at the end of Fall semester, you will be eligible for off-campus housing Spring semester.
If you are planning on moving off-campus for the spring, please send your request to housing@georgefox.edu no later than December 14.
Students moving off for the spring will need to check out of fall housing at the end of the current semester.

The Liberal Arts, Critical Issues (G.E. senior capstone) program will present 35 student projects focused on how we can better understand and interact with the developing world. These projects reflect the semester-long research of the 170 students participating in the program this semester. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The projects will be be presented from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, in Hoover and the EHS atrium.
