Postage rates increase on Monday, May 11. Stamps will increase from 42 cents to 44 cents each. Purchase the “Forever Stamps” now at 42 cents each; they will be worth 44 cents each on Monday. Forever Stamps can only be purchased in books of 20.
University Mail Services has Forever Stamp books available for $8.40 (20 stamps). Remember that on Monday, that same book will cost $8.80.

The Phase II program will open at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, for viewing of the left-behind items gathered from departing students. Items have been sorted and made available to student summer help and staff at the Wright House, located at 515 Villa Road (next to the Villa Academic Complex). We greatly appreciate your help in keeping items neatly sorted.

Free tickets are available for a Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast scheduled at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 9, in Klages Dining Hall. The focus is on homelessness in our area. The speakers are County Commissioner Kathy George and Polly Siler, director of Love INC.

The card access for Wheeler Sports Center will be deactivated for the summer. The building will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
If you haven’t already, please submit your April timesheet to your supervisor right away to ensure that you are paid on Monday, May 11.  Please be sure your name and ID number are printed legibly at the top, and sign it before you give it to your supervisor. Â
Paychecks will be mailed to the most recent address that Mail Services has on file. If your campus box is still open, your check will go there instead.

The university will host two commencement ceremonies on the Newberg campus Saturday, May 2. The traditional undergraduate ceremony will take place in Miller Gymnasium/Wheeler Sports Center at 2 p.m., with audience seating at 1 p.m. Tickets are required for the traditional undergraduate ceremony.
The graduate, seminary and School of Professional Studies ceremony will take place in Miller Gymnasium/Wheeler Sports Center at 7 p.m., with audience seating at 6 p.m.
In addition, the baccalaureate service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Bauman Auditorium. Baccalaureate is an undergraduate worship service providing graduating seniors, their families, faculty, administrators, staff and other guests the opportunity to worship.

There will be no student mail delivery after 2 p.m. Friday, May 1. This will allow for the transition from spring semester to summer operations.
Mail delivery will begin again on Monday, May 4, for those who requested their mailboxes to remain open, and mail will be forwarded for those who requested that service. If you have questions, please e-mail Linda Sartwell (Mail Services) at lsartwel@georgefox.edu.
The university’s library has added texting as part of its “Ask Us” service. Now George Fox students, faculty and staff can send questions and receive answers from librarians by using their cell phones. More information is available at georgefox.edu/offices/murdock/text.html.

The University Store is hosting a Graduation Sale this Wednesday through Friday, April 29 through May 1. Save 25 percent on all George Fox merchandise (except diploma frames). Store hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Congratulations graduates!
Also, a reminder: The bookstore’s book buyback program also runs Wednesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your books to the main entrance right outside the University Store in the SUB. To see what your books are worth, go to www.store.georgefox.edu, select the “Main Store” heading, then click “Sell” next to “Textbooks” at the top of the page. It’s important to know that you must enter “www” to get into the bookstore’s website.

During the summer, Mail Services will be open as normal from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The courier service will remain the same, going to Portland five days a week and to Salem on Mondays and Thursdays. Questions? Call ext. 2555.
Students who have not yet completed an Application for May Term or Summer Housing need to visit the Student Life Office ASAP as the deadline was Friday, April 24.
In order to live on campus during the summer, you must be:
– Taking a May Term class
– Working on campus 40 hours a week
– Working at Tilikum
– A Summer Rearch Scholar

Mark Benjamin (Spiritual Life) and his family will be leaving our community at the end May. To honor them, we are throwing an open house/celebration/going away party from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Spiritual Life House. Mark is moving to Georgia for the summer and eventually to North Carolina to help with a church plant. Feel free to stop in whenever you can and let Mark know how much you appreciate him!
