Getting Married in 2011?

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

Getting married during 2011? Timing is everything when it comes to filing your FAFSA.

It is important that you meet with your financial aid counselor for an evaluation before you submit your 2011-12 FAFSA. By doing so, you will learn the best approach for the maximum amount of funding possible. Please keep in mind that you cannot change your marital status once you have filed a FAFSA, so contact your counselor first.

Your financial aid counselors are divided by the first letters of students’ last names:

A-G       Chris Schlarbaum             503-554-2234     cschlarb@georgefox.edu
H-O        Marla Sweningson           503-554-2294     mswening@georgefox.edu
P-Z         Terri Crawford                   503-554-2231     tcrawfor@georgefox.edu

Monday, December 13th, 2010

We are happy to announce that students can now indicate via their “Student Service Center” that they want to access their 1098T Tax Form online. Making this selection will give you 24-hour access to a PDF of your tax form as soon as it is ready in January! From there it can be easily printed, e-mailed or saved.

Please be aware that if you “Grant Consent” a printed copy will no longer be mailed to you. If you like to file your taxes quickly, have moved or are concerned about mail safely reaching you, we strongly recommend this option.

Thank a Professor reminder

Monday, December 13th, 2010

Is there someone at George Fox who has made a difference in your academic career? Someone who ignited a spark to make you want to learn or attend class or who has acted as a role model? Take a moment to write an e-mail, e-card, or traditional “thank you” card to that professor (or other person). Try to be specific as you describe how this person has contributed to your life.

Use your own card or stop by the Student Life front desk to pick up a blank card. Sponsored by the Academic Resource Center.
