Come see how the fields of biology, computer science and math come together through exciting new technologies.
Dr. Joseph Gonzales, a senior field applications scientist with Illumina Inc., will give a talk on Wednesday, April 3, at 3:30 p.m. in EHS 102 about Illumnica technologies, and specifically, how they relate to the field of genomics.
The lecture title is “Microarray and Next-Gen Sequencing Technologies: The Genomics Era.” Joseph graduated from George Fox as a math major and biology minor. He went on to get his PhD at the University of Notre Dame.
Illumina develops and manufactures technology that allows researchers to gather, process, and analyze genetic information that can be used to study the cases of disease. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Ayala (hayala@georgefox.edu) in the Department of Biology and Chemistry.
