We are a group of exercise science students doing an anonymous study about muscular performance and the period cycle, because we want to know if muscular performance changes over the course of the menstrual cycle. If you get your period between now and the 10th of April we would love for you to be a part of our study.
You will be asked to do three tests – a bench press, leg press, and push-ups (you can choose to do it from your knees or toes). There will be at least two sessions (no more than three). A session will take about 45 minutes, and we will coordinate with you to find the right time to do the tests.
You do not need to be an athlete or a super fit person because we are looking at the changes over the course of your period. It’s OK if you are not familiar with the gym or exercises because we will be there with you to walk you through them and answer your questions.
We accept anyone who menstruates (if you are taking hormonal contraceptives, you can still participate) and if you think you are going to be on your period during spring break and are within 45 minutes of Newberg.
If you are willing to participate, please contact Val Gabriychuk at gabriychukv19@georgefox.edu or Sarah Julian at sjulian19@georgefox.edu.

In the Office of Student Life, we are continually evaluating ways in which we can better serve and address the needs of students. We are seeking ways to help students maintain their mental health and well-being during their time at George Fox.
We are asking you to take a few moments to complete this anonymous survey that will provide us with more information about individual mental health needs, experiences with current mental health services, and preferences for the mental health services offered on campus.
The results of the survey will be used to inform the development of potential new mental health programs and services that are tailored to meet the needs of individuals in our community.
This survey is an active collaboration between Sharia Hays, EdD, dean of student care and operations, and the university’s PsyD consult, education and program evaluation II team; Joel Davies, MA; Dennis Kurtz, MA; Liberty Lillibridge, MA; and Hunter Schow, MA. If any questions or concerns arise, feel free to reach out to Sharia Hays at shays@georgefox.edu.
After completing the survey, you will have the opportunity to be entered in a drawing to win one of four $25 Amazon gift cards. If you have any questions or would like to provide further information for us to consider please, email Sharia Hays to schedule an appointment. Thank you for your time and insight.
