We are in need of six actors (of high-school looking age) for a 25-minute short student film.
The synopsis: Push the bully holds cruel dominion over the school, earning his respect through fear and deprecation. When new kid John Williams enters the school and challenges his sovereignty, Push must fight to retain not only his power, but also his very identity.
The six roles we are searching for are:
- Push the bully is not short, nor is he tall. With his smile he could get away with murder.
- Eugene Kraft is Push’s righthand man. Eugene is afraid of Push, and loves seeing Push bully anybody beside himself.
- John Williams is a prince. A hero. He is well-read, well-bred, and well traveled. He is tall with blond hair and steely blue eyes.
- Frank is one of Push’s favorite victims. Frank is overweight. And he has a lisp.
- Slud is another of Push’s favorite victims. Slud has a disability that requires the use of forearm crutches.
- Clob, another of Push’s favorites, looks radioactive. Clob has acne and is ugly under his acne.
We also need some giggling high school girls who have crushes on Williams the new kid, and also someone to play a very short role of a maid/mother, and possibly a damsel in distress.
This is a non-paying gig, but we will provide meals during long shoot days, a DVD of the film will be provided when its done, and also great seats at the premiere.
We are planning on shooting the weekends of Feb. 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26. Auditions are this Thursday and Friday, Jan. 26-27, at the Portland Center near Tigard at 7 p.m.
Questions? Contact Carissa Hoffman at choffman09@georgefox.edu.

The Office of Financial Affairs is updating its process for employee expense reimbursements. As you know, employee expense reimbursements have always been by check, but starting Feb. 6 employees will now have the option of receiving reimbursements via direct deposit or by paper check.
The new guidelines are as follows:
Effective Feb. 6
- For those who sign up for direct deposit: If your Expense Reimbursement Form is received in the Office of Financial Affairs by Monday, your deposit will be processed on Thursday of that week. If it’s received after Monday, it will be processed on Thursday of the following week. Please note that payment may take up to 48 hours to appear in your account.
Effective March 1
- For those who choose to have reimbursements processed as a check: Checks will be cut only on the first Monday of each month. If your Expense Reimbursement Form arrives in the Office of Financial Affairs by 5 p.m. on the 20th of the month, your payment will be included in the next check run. If your paperwork arrives after the 20th of the month, it will not be processed until the following month’s check run. (Example: If your paperwork arrives before Feb. 20, the check will be cut on the first Monday in March. If your paperwork arrives after Feb. 20, your check will be cut on the first Monday of April.)
If you want your reimbursements to be set up as direct deposit you’ll need to download, complete and submit the authorization form to the financial affairs office. The form can be found on the FAO’s Common Forms webpage.

Does your office have a shredder? If so, here is some new recycling information you need to know.
When your shredder is full, what do you do with the paper? If you empty the shredding into a black plastic bag or into the blue recycling bags, it is considered trash and gets thrown out.
In order for us to be better stewards, custodial services is beginning a new program of providing rolls of clear bags for this purpose. When the bag gets full just pull them out, tie them off and place to the side. Then your custodial cleaning crew will be able to collect these bags as recycling and place them in the appropriate bin for pickup.
If your shredder does not currently have any plastic bags, please e-mail custodial at dastlefo@georgefox.edu and we will be sure you get some to you quickly. If you have additional questions about what is recyclable, follow this link to the recycling page on the university’s website.
