Emerging Leaders PDX is dedicated to improving racial and cultural diversity at the leadership level in Portland-area companies. The Emerging Leaders Internship (ELI) program matches students of color with paid summer internships at top companies throughout the Portland metro area.
Their mission is to empower diverse talent to excel as professionals through opportunity and a supportive community. Since 2016, they have placed participants into 500-plus internships, with many successfully transitioning into full-time employment.
Here’s some ELI internship basics:
- All ELI internships are paid ($18+/hour)
- Full time at 30 to 40 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks
- Summer internships typically running from June to August
- Interns work on meaningful projects and receive mentorship
ELI partners with organizations across all industries to place interns into positions
within the following job groupings:
- Tech
- Marketing & Communications
- Business & Entrepreneurship
- Operations & Projects
- People & Engagement
- Finance & Accounting
