Film ‘Papers’ shown Wednesday to commemorate Cesar Chavez
Join us in Hoover 105 on Wednesday, March 31, for a showing of the movie Papers from 6 to 8 p.m. Following the movie, a panel discussion will take place and feature the producer of Papers, an immigration attorney, and a community activist.
Papers is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status. The event, hosted by the office of transitions and inclusion, is being held in commemoration of Cesar Chavez and his dream of human rights in education.
About 65,000 undocumented students graduate every year from high school without “papers,” and the door to their future slams shut.
