Play ‘Portraits of Courage’ presented in Bauman Auditorium Feb. 9
The Multicultural Club, Residence Life and Multicultural Services are sponsoring presentation of the play “Portraits of Courage: African Americans You Wish You Had Known” from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in Bauman Auditorium. Faculty members, please encourage your students to attend this engaging and educational play. It is being presented as part of February’s Black History Month celebration.
Ticket sales start Monday, Jan 26. Students and employees each receive one complimentary ticket through the University Store. Outside community members are invited to purchase tickets at a rate of $8 for adults, $6 for seniors/alumni, and $5 for students with ID. Tickets may be purchased in person at the bookstore or by calling 503-554-3844. The play features reserved seating starting at 6:30 p.m.
The 65-minute presentation discusses African Americans who have been influential to the development of America but are typically overlooked in the history books. The six people portrayed have all played a pivotal role in American culture and history, and this show gives the audience the opportunity to learn and appreciate them in an engaging and entertaining light. There will be a discussion afterwards.
