Islam in America is topic of Monday’s LACI lecture
All are welcome to the third installment of the “Islam and the West” Liberal Arts and Critical Issues series on Monday, Sept. 17, in Hoover 105. The session runs from 7 to 8 p.m. and features Ronald Abdul Rahim Hubbs, a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
His lecture, entitled “A Brief Overview of Islam in America,” will discuss the story of Islam in America and cover topics such as Muslims and slavery in America, Muslim missionaries to the U.S., and Islam today in this country.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions. The same lecture is presented from 4:40 to 5:40 p.m.; however, it is recommended that the general public attend the evening session, if possible.
