Chamber, Chehalem Symphony concerts play this week

The university community is invited to two concerts scheduled in Bauman Auditorium this week. On Thursday, Nov. 10, a Chamber Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. and feature a clarinet trio, a keyboard ensemble, a low brass ensemble, a string ensemble and handbell ringers. Selections to be played will include works by Mendelssohn, Mozart, Debussy and Brahms.

On Sunday, Nov. 13, the Chehalem Symphony Orchestra will perform beginning at 3 p.m. The symphony will perform works by Beethoven (Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92, Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37 and Symphony No. 3 in Eb Major, Op. 55 Eroica). The cadenza for the first movement is a unique collaboration between James Pick (spring 2011 graduate) and Kenn Willson (Performing Arts), with a little inspiration from Beethoven.

Both concerts are free. Contact Debbie Hawblitzel at ext. 2620 for more information.
