There is much more to studying communication than most people realize!
Our communication studies program challenges students to think critically, communicate strategically, and apply theory to real-world contexts through hands-on projects, internships and collaborative work.
Rather than taking the simple path, communication majors are equipped with versatile skills and practical experiences that intentionally pair with business, ministry, psychology, and other disciplines, opening doors to a wide range of meaningful career options.
It’s a major that doesn’t limit your future, but multiplies your possibilities and prepares you to lead with clarity, creativity and purpose.
Communication courses that complement any major include:
- Communication in Society (COMM 111)
- Persuasive Communication (COMM 200)
- Interpersonal Communication (COMM 210
- Organizational Communication (COMM 270)
- Small Group Communication (COMM 290)

Chronic pain is often an invisible and vastly misunderstood condition, and we’re hoping to change that. We are students of Arielle Hodges in her Health Communication course, and our main goal is to create a health campaign that increases awareness of the topic of chronic pain and reduces the stigma associated with it. To accomplish this goal, we need your help!
We would greatly appreciate your participation by filling out this quick five-minute online survey regarding your understanding of, experiences with, and strategies for approaching chronic pain.
Through these surveys, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of the perceptions that George Fox students have regarding chronic pain.
Thank you for your participation! If you have any questions, concerns or further feedback, please feel free to reach out to Jazmyn Legg at jlegg25@georgefox.edu, Jordyn Brown at brownj23@georgefox.edu, or professor Hodges at ahodges@georgefox.edu.

Professor Arielle Hodges’s Health Communication class has been separated into three groups to create and send out surveys based on different issues. Our group has created a survey, titled “Experiences with Social Connection and the Be Known Promise at Fox.”
Our survey aims to gather data from students on whether or not they believe the Be Known promise is being fulfilled, and how it influences undergraduate students’ stress levels. Participation involves filling out this 10-minute online survey regarding your social habits, sense of belonging at George Fox, and your experience with stress and coping.
We would appreciate your feedback! If you have any questions, reach out to Dante Cicolani at dcicolani24@georgefox.edu. Thank you!

It’s the time of the year when the university’s Animation Club hosts its “Animation Jam” event! Join us anytime between 3 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, in Lemmons 4.
Animation students have been working hard on creating animated short films for the Fox Film Festival. They need your help to finish the job! The event is focused around supporting our fellow animators to achieve the deadline for their films. There will be snacks, drinks, music and good times.
Join us to gain real-world introductory experience in operating industry-standard animation software. Your help will speed up the production process – and you will even be credited for your contributions to the film!
Seasoned animators are welcome … and newcomers, too! Even if you have never animated before, we would be happy to have you! We will instruct you with the basics of operating the animation software.
All undergraduate students are welcome to attend! Contact Ryan Riggs at rriggs22@georgefox.edu with any questions.
