Introducing ‘Bite-Sized Wellness Tuesdays’

Have you ever noticed that some things are easier to manage in bite-sized portions? The Wellness Committee would like to encourage you to participate in “Bite-Sized Wellness Tuesdays!”

Self-care is a popular topic these days, and for good reason. Each Tuesday, for the remainder of April, we will present a list of five different, bite-sized activities or ideas for rejuvenation and restoration for our busy lives. They are also completely cost-free!

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), “Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. This can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact.” You can visit their page here.

This week’s five tips are:

  • Skip scrolling on your phone and take a walk, behold the wonder of God’s creation
  • Practice some deep breathing exercises
  • Spend time journaling thoughts and feelings
  • Before sending out an email, pray for the recipient(s)
  • Practice mindfulness by focusing on the present moment

Cheers to a more whole you!
