Interested in teaching a cooking class this fall? Sign up for an orientation
Starting in the fall 2023, the Bruin Community Pantry Nutrition Matters Kitchen will be offering cooking classes on Sunday afternoons.
If you are interested in teaching a cooking class, plan to attend one of four orientation sessions offered this summer. Everyone who is interested in teaching cooking classes to our students must participate in an orientation prior to teaching the class.
During the orientation you will be given a tour of the kitchen as well as information about the requirements for teaching a class. The orientation will take place in the Bruin Community Pantry (Roberts Center, Room 109).
If you are not able to attend any of the scheduled sessions, but really want to teach a cooking class, please contact Jere Witherspoon at jwitherspoon@georgefox.edu. She is happy to meet with people individually as well. All instructors will be required to obtain a valid food handlers card in order to teach a class.
The following days and times have been set aside for trainings:
- Monday, May 8, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Thursday, May 18, 11 a.m. to noon
- Thursday, June 15, 4-5 p.m.
- Thursday, July 13, 9 to 10 a.m.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please email Jere Witherspoon and indicate which day you would like to attend for the orientation.
