World-class drum & bugle corps group plays free performance on campus Tuesday night

The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps, a world-class performing ensemble, is spending two weeks on the George Fox campus rehearsing for its upcoming summer performance season.

The ensemble is offering our community a free opportunity to come listen from 7 to 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at Stoffer Family Stadium. The group will rehearse and perform during that time. All are welcome to attend. Photographs or video recording is not permitted.

Members of the Vanguard come from many states and countries and are between 18 and 22. The corps travel between 10 and 12 weeks each summer throughout the U.S. to perform in competitive field shows and parades.

The ensemble is one of the founding groups of Drum Corps International (DCI). Vanguard has won seven DCI World Class Championship titles and holds the distinction of being the only drum corps to make finals every year since DCI was formed in 1972.
