Buy, donate and sell at Hadlock’s ‘Gearage Sale’ on Oct. 1

Monday, September 20th, 2021

University Recreation is hosting its annual “Gearage Sale” at the Hadlock Student Center (Newberg campus) on Friday, Oct. 1, from 3 to 9 p.m. You won’t want to miss it!

New this year: Students, employees and community members can sell their outdoor recreation and sporting equipment at the sale by using a consignment option.

Also new this year, proceeds from consignment sales go toward a new student scholarship fund that helps students participate in outdoor trips and activities that would otherwise struggle to do so because of financial difficulties.

Donations of equipment and cash are encouraged. All proceeds from the sale of donated equipment will go toward the student scholarship fund. Have something sitting around in your garage or basement? Let us know! Drop it off and we would love to try and sell it to benefit our students!

Interested in selling or donating something? Read this Seller’s Agreement and fill out this form to let us know!

Please spread the word about this event to your friends, colleagues, and neighbors! Contact AJ Heil (aheil@georgefox.edu) with any questions.

Final call for stationery orders

Sunday, September 19th, 2021

This is the final call to order university stationery for the large fall order. The collective order helps keep costs low – the higher the volume, the lower the cost. Consequently, it is most economical to overestimate needs and store a small surplus.

Orders can be placed on the marketing communications website and will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 24.

Continue to purchase all non-departmental stationery (including “second-sheet letterhead”) through the university’s Office of Mail Services.

Registration for #CareerGoals networking event is now open!

Sunday, September 19th, 2021

Guess what? The registration for the IDEA Center’s first networking event of the year is now open! We have invited a group of 15 intriguing alumni professionals to campus that will each host a table at this round-robin event. It will take place Friday, Oct. 8, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Canyon Commons.

For 10 minutes, professionals will share about their career journey, as well as any advice they wish they knew when they were college students at George Fox. Students will have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the alumni’s career of choice or education path.

Every 10 minutes students will move to a new table with a new professional. For the final 20 minutes of the event, all students will have the chance to connect with our guests in a traditional mixer-type format.

We will be hosting alumni from the following industries: HR and recruiting, education, healthcare, technology, start-ups, government, nonprofit work, marketing, event planning, athletics, ministry, and so much more!

The undergrad degrees they received from George Fox University include accounting, finance, engineering, cognitive science, biology, organizational communication, marketing, family and consumer sciences, Christian ministries, business administration, and psychology.

Registration opens today (Monday) on Handshake! When it opens, log into your Handshake account, click “Events” in the top left corner, then scroll down to find the selection “#CAREERGOALS: A Career Exploration Event”, hosted by George Fox University. By clicking on that title, you will be given the opportunity to sign up for the event.

Don’t miss out on this amazing networking opportunity! We hope to see you there!
